Tech-Careers is an association that provides technical training for members of the Ethiopian community in Israel. The program offers a real opportunity for participants to acquire knowledge, experience and skills in order to integrate in the Israeli high-tech industry, develop a good career, and move to economic independence. The collaboration between Malam and Tech-Career can be seen in the support given to Tech-Career students during their studies by senior Malam staff - during the past year, five senior members of Malam served as mentors at Tech-Career. Malam offers an integration track for graduates of the course, through which 12 Tech-Career graduates have already been recruited. These are graduates of dot.NET, Cobol and QA, who have taken up different positions in the Malam group, including three program graduates currently employed in the Malam Team group’s Guardian program.
There are over 1.7 million people living in Israel who receive insufficient nutrition. More than 750,000 of them are children. Leket Israel works to alleviate nutritional insecurity among the needy. Leket Israel supports tens of thousands of people every day, through more than 290 charitable organizations. Leket carries out a range of countrywide activities based on rescuing surplus food, from rescuing crops in agricultural fields and collecting food surpluses, through bulk buying of food, to professional support in the field of food safety and good nutrition, and it does so with care for the quality of the environment.
